Tea culture

Tea EnglandTea is drunk in England at every time of day. Even for breakfast most English prefer tea to coffee. According to this, there are different types of teas to every kind with different amounts of theine for every time of day.

The tea culture's strongest tradition is, however, the so called "High Tea". This is celebrated daily at 5 o'clock in the afternoon and is more than just a cup of tea for recreation and to draw strength. Scones, small sandwiches, biscuits and cakes are part of the tea. In parlours and cafes an étagère is offered that contains different viands one can eat for "High Tea". This culture is upheld and it is common to offer guests a fresh brewed cup of tea.
